Ayurveda is the science of Life, with birth being the very epitome of this notion - both in delivery and witnessing life take her first breaths and

even more-so in Mama's recovery & rejuvenation.

Ayurveda is the perfect guide to replenish from birth anew. We, as new Mamas are newborns ourselves following the delivery of our babe.

Our digestion is wack, our tissues are depleted beyond exhaustion, our spirit is still sprinkling back down from the ethers, returning from

collecting our babe and ushering us both through the birth portal.

Ayurveda is a divine wisdom, which supports life from its very elemental beginnings. Women who bring this wisdom forth and support our women in birth and postpartum, are not only enabling this beautiful healing to deeply nurture women in their care, but are also carving out change in the way society currently views the postpartum healing space. The new need for our wayshowers.

There is no greater threshold than that of life between the worlds. As an experienced Ayurvedic Doula you will hold a deep reverence

for the abundant wisdom contained in Vedic texts and be able to share your authentic Ayurvedic wisdom to assist women in their postpartum rejuvenation.

The knowledge you will learn here and hold in your heart will benefit the divine feminine as a whole. The deep, devotional work you will share with new Mamas in their most vulnerably beautiful space, is a soul calling.

WESTERN NEED FOR EASTERN TRADITIONS

Ayurvedic Postpartum is a deeply restorative time and art in healing, practiced by most women of eastern traditions for thousands of years. In Ayurveda, we recognise the importance of replenishing a new Mama's vital essence following birth, allowing her deep rest and nourishment as she rebuilds her self from within.

Birth is a wondrous and magical process. Witnessing the divine-feminine at her pinnacle in fem-form during birth, and her body's amazing

innate ability to deliver, nourish and also to heal... when we really stop and recognise the physical/

emotional and spiritual effort it takes to bring a baby earthside.. how on earth can we just rush back into the norm of daily life, without honouring the necessary time and need to deeply rest and regenerate?

Sacred postpartum is a lost ancient art in our fast paced Western culture. Our new Mamas are expected to be back at work, back to daily duties and resuming daily life, as if birth was a non-event. We are expected to 'bounce back' and rush through what is meant to be, a sacred and beautiful time with our newborn babies, and, meeting ourselves all over again.. Our right of passage in transition.

The fast pace and lack of grounding contributes to so many issues in our Mamas and why there is so much depletion one year on from birth, why Mamas are experiencing overwhelm, anxiety, depression, isolation and, turning to Western medicine for the generic fix - pharmaceutical relief.

It is here and now that we have the golden

opportunity to change that narrative, from now on.
